The first step in choosing bills that should be voted is the lobbying session. Lobbyist come to this session a talk about who they are lobbying for and they talk about why someone should vote for their bill. This system works well because it helps the voters understand and know what bill they are voting for.

After this session the members of congress choose what bill they are voting for. There are many things that congress is looking for when they are choosing which bills should be passed and which bills that should be thrown out. Most of the Congress want bills that were well written and that had a good presentation.

The next step is the voting. All the bills that get a majority vote get passed. If a bill does not get a majority vote, it is killed. In this stage of the process, some people vote for bills that there buddies are voting on and this does make the voting less acurate.

In the final step, all of the bills that get passed go to the President. If the President passes the bill it becomes a law, if he does not, it goes back to the commitee. The commitee can then make changes and amendments to the bill.

Senator Hawk wrote a great bill, but he had already sponsored three other bills. Senator Hawk did the noble thing and he killed his bill.

Senator George got his bill passed with a majority vote. His bill illegalized the purchase of alcohol on Sundays.

Unfortunately Senator Dulaney could not get her bill passed. She had a very good idea in raising the age to get a license to eighteen. She complains that some of the members of the house were not voting on her bill because of pressure from other House members.

Lobbyist Zuckerman was lobbying for the building’s union. He wants to make more fields to help make sporting events more popular. He also wanted to make more banks. With much controversy, this bill was passed.
